They are really called Debbie's, I didn't add my name in front of them. Come to think of it, I have two bread type recipes with my name already in it! ha! Funny.
Debbie's Cloud Biscuits
2 C Flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar ( add about 2 tsp or so of sugar)
1 tsp salt
Sift above ingredients. (I just use my whisk and whisk them good)
Cut in
1/2 C shortening (I used butter flavored Crisco) Set the crumbly dough aside.
Combine till well blended (I use a fork and whisk to blend)
1 egg
2/3 c milk ( I like buttermilk when I have it on hand, but any kind of milk will work)
Mix egg and milk mixture into sifted flour mixture with a fork until dough follows fork around bowl. Place dough in well floured board. Kneed about 20 times. Roll out, and pat out to 3/4 inch thick. Cut as desired. Place in 9x13" greased baking dish. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-14 minutes.
The Demarle Way.
Little flour needed on Roul Pat, mostly just for your hands. Place cut biscuits on non-greased silpat. I spaced them a little bit. Bake at 440 degrees oven for 10-14 minutes.
Debbie's notes:
I like to brush melted butter on the tops of the biscuits before going in the oven, and after coming out.. you know that makes them really healthy and oh so good! If ya are gonna eat one or two of these babies with gravy and a side of bacon... ya may as well do it up right...right!
Oh I always double this recipe and they come out perfect every time too.
