Merry Christmas Poem to You

Nothing fancy, nothing new,
just a white light or two.

Looking out the glass,
onto this bright mass.

Makes my heart fill,
as I remember His star still.

The real meaning of today,
can never be taken away.

For Jesus is here for everyone,
for His love can never be undone.

May your Christmas be wonderful because
Jesus loves you more then you can ever know.

Merry Christmas

Steampunk Valentine

Well Steam punk is not my thing... however I challenged my self to come up with an ATC swap card for a group I am in and the theme is yep..... Steam-punk Valentine. I drew the eye and water colored it in then outlined with a thin marker. I them rummaged around for metal findings and stuff that was steam-punkish in my stash to finish it off. The eye lashes are curled wire, then a metal frame and spinner arrow and a metal looking heart. It is very different from my normal style. But that is part of the fun of doing a challenge to bring you out of your safe little art box and try new stuff, right?  Well that is what I am telling my self.... the name of this ATC is "EYE LOVE...." you fill in the dot dot dot with what you love. I hope my swap partner likes it!

Do you notice the ripple scalloped edge of the card... oh that is the new trimmer with the rotary scalloped edge cutting blade on it... Oh how "EYE LOVE" it!

Lunch bag gift

This adorable lunch bag and pencil pouch is for my oldest granddaughter Sadie. She starts school this fall and I thought she could use a one of a kind lunch sack like this. I put insulated fabric on the inside too. It is light weight and a cinch to open and close. It can be rolled up and put in her back back so she has only one bag to carry home with all her books and papers.
I even machine embroidered her name too.
I sure hope she likes it as much I wish I had one and a place to go to use it! You want one? I found the pattern on the net... just do a Google search and you will fine a free pattern as well... or if you want one made for you I can do that too, just let me know. Cost is $35 for the lunch bag.

You are a Whole lot of Wonderful

This stamp caught my eye because I love flowers and I love the saying. Can you spot the boo-boo in this picture? Leave a comment on this post with where the boo-boo is and I will put everyone's name in a hat and draw one out and send the winner a little gift. This new stamp will be coming soon to a new occasions mini catalog to you!

Gift Wrap

How about some gift wrap ideas? I made the boxes and made the bows and made the tags. This was such a quick fun easy project. I used 12x12 card stock and designer series paper to make them. The bow die is one you don't want to let get buy without buying one. I love it and so will you once you get it and start using it. You can make some many quick projects with it, and not just for Christmas. We give gifts all year long..... so this will so come in handy to use up all my scrap papers and card stock. Get yours today along with some other great products at www.debbiebuchanan.stampinup.net.

New Endeavor

Well I thought I would let you know that I got myself into a new endeavor. Along with being a Stampin Up Creative Coach and teaching Art Journaling Classes, I am now a Jamberry Nail Consultant. Look for one of these logos at the left side of my blog and you can click on them and find yourself at my Jamberry Nail web site. Order right from my web site, view videos of how to apply the great product, hold a party with your friends or sign up to be a consultant yourself! Super fun! Great great product. I have one one free trial nail on for over two weeks now and it still looks great as if I just applied it. I am impressed with the product. Super easy to apply and great results.

Frosty has a lite-up nose.

Isn't this little guy just the sweetest. And to think his nose lights up!
Here are the pieces that you will need to make your snowman. You may need to adjust the sizes of punches for your candle lite. I hand cut out the branches for the arms and the beak for the bird.

You will need a battery operated little tea light candle. Tie a ribbon around the side. I added a bit of glue under the knot to secure it.
Here is the back side of the snowman. The hold in the middle give you access to the on off button and the battery hole. I glued on a hanger tie to the back of the hat because it hung a little better then from the bottom.
I hope you are inspired to make a few of your own.

Baby Quilt

I did it! I marked one thing off my bucket list.... you may think this is really weird and maybe a little silly ... well maybe not, if you are a hard core crafter! I made and finished my very first quilt! Yep and finished! And I love love love it. I used flannels (my most favorite fabric) and bubble fleece. The pattern is super quick and easy. I had it done in about oh 6 or so hours. It is so soft and so perfect for our newest granddaughter Pheobie. She turned one in Nov, and made it threw brain surgery with flying colors. We got even grater news that she doesn't have the chromazone that would have caused her to have many more surgery's. But she is all better, all healed, and doing just wonderful. God is so good! I wanted to make her a quilt from grandma so every time she is wrapped in it, she is getting hugs from me.

Treasure Boxes

These cut little boxes are Christmas gifts for my grandsons. I have wanted to make them each a treasure box. You know a place where kids can hid things they find valuable. I hand painted there names on the box.
I added cork to the lid and glue buttons and wiggle eyes on thumb tacks. I covered a Stampin Up embellishment box with card stock and added a wiggle eye to the lid. Then I stamped there initial on a scrap pad. I had some resin bugs that were in my moms stash and there were perfect to glue to the inside. Also a really nice memory item of her too.
I am super happy with the way they turned out. I also added some gummy frog candy and some Christmas cash on the inside. I want to snap a silly picture of all of us and put it on the inside too. I think my adorable grandsons will like the treasure boxes.

NEW Photopolymer Stamps

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.
What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
They are clearly a great choice.
You can get your Clear Set Here! Order today and remember the great sales that are going on too.

Ornaments

So what'ca think? I made these bows out of the loop from the bow die. I cut out 6 loops, embossed them and then after gluing the ends together I punched a hole and added a brad to keep the loops gathered together. I used hot glue to add the loops on top of a large snowflake. Punched out the smaller snowflake and hot glued that over the center of the loops. I then punched a hole to add the ribbon hanger and embellishments in the center. Hang on the tree.

You are my Cup of Tea

Sharing a cup of tea with a good friend is a great blessing. I hope this card idea not only gets you stamping, but calling a friend too and have a cup of tea together. It is the perfect time of year to connect with loved ones. Slow down a little and visit with those who are important to you.

Silent Night

The life of our dog boomer. Take the time this season to have a little silent night for yourself!

Happy Big Day

Wishing others a Happy Birthday while we celebrate Jesus' birthday can sometimes be a bummer for the birthday boy or girl. But sending a card to them handmade from the heart sure makes it better!

Valentines

I love this card and I love Valentines Day. A day to tell others you love them. We can do it everyday, but do we? I try. This card will make it easy to tell others you love them. I know we are in the middle of Christmas. I needed a break!

Winters Coming Scrap Page

I so love the Festive Flurry Stamp set and dies. This page is offered at the Stamp Club class this month. I am supper happy with the way it turned out. Ready to drop some amazing winter photos in!

Water coloring

I water colored the bird using a aqua painter brush and the ink from the lid of the ink pad. Embossing the image insures that the outline will not bleed.

hummmm - really nice card

Crushed Curry and Smokey Gray --- yummy!
So are you ready for Christmas? I have a bit of shopping to finish, cookies to bake, and gifts to get in the  mail... and and and... nope I am no where near being done!

Bow Angel

I used the new Bow die cut from the Holiday Catalog to create this little angel ornament. Isn't she adorable? You can make her at club if you plan to come. If not I will have MakeItAtHomeKits available for $5, price includes shipping.

2014 is Coming Fast

This adorable project is a club project this month. The ladies wanted something special that was not cards for December. So using the top not die, I cut out some of our great designer paper and clear sheets and made little pockets that all hang together. You can hang it on a fridge using a heavy duty magnet. We are filling a pen with designer paper too to match. The top pocket can be changed out with different photos, or the stamped season cards that are included in this project.

Christmas Candy Count Down Calendar

I have wanted to make a fun little Christmas Candy Count Down Calendar for the grand boys. This is the fun little project I came up with. Using whisper white card stock I printed off a basic calendar. Stamped it up and personalized it too. One for each so no fuss'in! Glued the card stock over a cut piece of the card board that comes in our designer series paper packages. You could use a piece of card board from a box too. After glue the calendar on, punch holes at the top so you can tie on a ribbon hanger. I used glue dots to attach the mint candies in each square. I know there is more candy pass Christmas... but I am grandma I will spoil! It was about $6.50 to mail two of these in a padded envelope, so shipping can be a bit costly. But when your babies live far away, mailing treats from grandma and grandpa is priceless!
