Colorful Scrap Page

I really don't know where my brain was when I created this scrap page. I think it must have still be in bed. This page has over 60 punched out shapes, plus 15 butterflies!
But I love love love the color, the design the layout the butterflies the paper. I love everything about it.
I am so excited to share this with the scrap booking club gals. I think they will love the easy of putting it all together. I wonder how many will recreate another one like it and punch out 60+ pieces???
Ya just never know what you will create at Card/Scrap/Recipe club... won't you join me sometime soon. See my schedule of events at the like at the top of the blog.

Center Peice

I offered to make the center piece for my sorority group convention this year. I think it turned out pretty cute. I borrowed the glass vase from a member and added wide yellow ribbon and white toiling wrapped around some white Christmas light.
I made all the flowers out of the Stampin Up daisy big shot die, and attached them to straw stems and die punched out the leaves from a Stampin Up sizzlet. The music notes and signs were hand drawn and filled in with a black marker, then cut out and attached to a straw as well.
I tied a wide strip of left over fabric into the bow . Here is the bowl with the light turned on.
I think it turned out perfect for the convention and fits the theme well too. It will be a happy addition to the food table.

Finally Spring and A Before and After

Spring has finally sprung in Indiana! And the trees in our yard are so beautiful this year. I think there are three times more blooms this year then last. The weather has been beautiful and it has been a joy to work in the year a few days this past week.
So like my little yard "Chic Lisa" happy happy happy Spring.
My dear sweet  friend Lisa Smith gave me this "chic" a few years past, and I just love her. I named her "Chic Lisa" because they both make me laugh, and at time laugh till tears run down my legs!
Here is the (before) side of the house that used to be the door that led into the garage that is now the door that leads in to my studio "The Stamp Pad". It is always so hot here as it is sunny all day. Love the sun, but no so much the heat at the door way.
And here is the really nice cover that shades the heat, and make s a great spot for working, playing, relaxing outside. I think it turned out beautiful. We are super happy with the stain, the size, the style- the everything. My trusty contractor Pat Miles built this in a day and a half for us. He was so awesome with the the process. We love our contractor.  You can borrow him if you want! Call Pat Miles at 812-340-2641.
Pat even let me design the corbels.... big mistake on his part. You don't let an "artist" design something that a gig saw may not cut out very well or easy. He said "I will cut out what ever you want".... oh oh.... that was a lesson learned - he won't say that to an artist again! hahahha. I think he did an amazing job on them, even if they took him three times longer to cut then what he was expecting. Now this makes for a wonderful welcome into The Stamp Pad Studio. Thanks Pat... and thanks handsome for spending the money on what I want again! I am so spoiled!

Nice Matters

I painted this on a 8x19 canvas board. It is a nice reminder that being nice matters. You get more with honey! My motto was when I was waiting tables back in the day: Kill them with kindness. It not only makes your day great, it makes others day great too.

You never know what valley someone is walking through, and your little act of kindness may be the key to helping them through it.

Never to old to stamp

This pretty card is by Rozella Finch. Rozella celebrated her 68th wedding anniversary at month, and I had to ask her if she was married at birth! That got a great laugh. I am thrilled she can still get out and join us for card club and participate in card swapping. She is a gem to all of us.
This is the inside of Rozella's card. The inside is just a pretty as the outside.

Peace

In all things He gives me peace. Every day he gives me peace. When I am doing art, I am at peace. May you know His peace as well.

Amazing Grace

The tag swap I entered theme is favorite song. Well I just happen to have a stamp with the sheet music for this all time favorite of mine, Amazing Grace.

We are so blessed to be able to continue to live under His Amazing Grace. I pray you know His grace too.

Card Share

Becky Kirkman made this great card. I love everything about this card. The colors, the layout, the fun oval punch off centered. She used an oldie but goodie, curvy stamp set. She used the butterfly Embosslits die to cut and emboss the butterfly.

Be Joyful

I don't remember if I had shared this with you or not, but am gonna share it again if I had. I used a little bitty cross stitch picture in a catalog and drew this in my book while in the car on our way to PA last year. I am very lucky I do not get sick in the car while reading or drawing like so many do. I guess all those long trips from CA to TX when I was a kid cured me of that. Take your art tools with you where ever you go, you never know when you can steel a few minutes of "ahhhh" from your crazy day.

Dots and Flowers

This beautiful card is done by Gloria Ross. She is an amazing stamper, and put lots of work into the cards she makes. I love the layout and the colors. You can never go wrong with Daffodil (yellow) and Sky Blue.

Scraps

I was challenged to do a scrap ATC for a yahoo swap, and this was what I came up with. I had everything in a jar of left overs and thought I'd spill them all out and see what I could find to create with. So I had two roses stamped on torn paper, and used one to cut out and pop dot over the second one.

This Rose is an old stamp set that Stampin Up gave to there demonstrators for doing something great for them. I don't remember what the great thing was I did, but it was great to get this stamp set. I love it and have had it for many many years. I bet at least ten, because I made both the older kids wedding invitations and thank you notes out of it.

I had half a doily left from this months card club laying on my work table and glued it on the ATC base, the bow was tied and even had a glue dot on it and stuck to the outside of the green ribbon scrap jar, and the glitter heart was in the jar of left overs.

So a few things that could have been trash came together to make this great ATC.

So what in your scrap (wallet) hahah! had to say (write) it, sorry.

Blast from the Past

Remember this get well stamp set? It is an oldie but goodie. Susan Crabb made this adorable card. Have I ever told you what a great cook Susan is. Holy molly! She had made the turkey for our card club thanksgiving dinner for the past two year - wow yummy!

With Sympothy

I just love the way Judy Hacker did this card. She embossed a layer of crumb cake card stock, then ran ink over the bumps of the embossing and cut it at an off center angle and added the layer to the card. The little tied linen thread on the edges of the flowers is a great little addition to the card as well. Great card Judy. Thanks for swapping.

Sunshine on Tax Day

Everyone needs a little sunshine on tax day right?  I know where you can spend your refund at!

Blue and Yellow

This beauty is by Bev Massengale. She used great colors, blue and yellow on crumb cake - Love it!

Swirls and Curles

Swirls and curls and ribbons and bows and dots and all the things I love to dray and color. One bit mess of fun!

Angel ATC

I know this isn't a Stampin Up stamp, but I don't have any angles by Stampin Up. Thanks to Sandy Gretter who let me borrow this for another project I thought I would try her out on an ATC swap first. I water colored using my mica paints on the watercolor paper then did a little micron marker doodle. I stamped using staz-on ink, cut the angle out and painted her with the mica paints. I love the shimmer they give to the finished work. Such an Angel

Thanks Get Well

These two cute cards are by Marilyn. I love how she used a real band-aid on her get well card. Cuteness!

Scribble some Flowers

Ya I know - wow huh! I don't want to brag, but I really love this. I was inspired by Dion Dior water coloring style, and thought to my self, "Self, I used to do this crazy simple stuff back in grade school." She just punched it up a notch, so why can't I? I did a ATC card for a swap too, and will share that with ya as well but need to take a picture of it yet. I will have to do more of this in my art journal.

Captian America

This is the best card ever... well the hunk a hunk a burning eye candy behind the sign is really the best super hero ever! So Candace would say! Tracy Swift made this adorable birthday card. I just love it. The circles are just punched out of card stock and glued over each other and a star added. What could be easier then that.
Tracy also made this pretty card. I really like the embossing folder that she used on this card. It goes great with many cards. It to bad it isn't available anymore - wish Stampin Up would bring it back!

This was inspired from something I saw on pintrest. Ya I used it to. Love the inspiration I get from so many great ideas there. I do hope that you get some great ideas from my blog too. Love to all of you who follow, read and leave sweet comments. They mean a lot to me and encourage me to keep sharing with you.

Fairy Tag and Card

I had to share this beautiful Fairy Tag by Robyn from a yahoo group I participate in. The swap is just for tags, but she included this beautiful card as well. Boy it is sure special getting something this beautiful in the mail from a really great artist. Thanks Robyn, I love it.
This is the tag I sent for my swap.I hand drew my fairy, since I didn't have any fairy stamps (I know hard to believe) and colored in with watercolor pencils, added glitter pen for sparkles.
