ATC Tea Time

I entered a swap with the challenge of a painted tea pot. This is my design I cam up with and I just love it. I almost don't want to send it off. I used intense watercolor pencils, black micron marker, glitter pen and an aqua brush.

These images are from a retired stamp set, and I love the way Crista Miller put it all together and tied it up with raffia.

UPDATE: Stampin' Blendabilities

Stampin' Up! recently announced that some of our most exciting new products, Stampin' Blendabilities Markers. These exclusive alcohol-based marker sets, come in a 3-pack of light, medium and dark shades (of the same color ), and provide your projects a more saturated look with blended colors. We recommend using Stampin' Up! Whisper White Cardstock with your Stampin' Up! Blendabilities, but any one of our cardstocks would work just as well.
What Sets Them Apart:
  • The Stampin' Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away!
  • Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker.
  • Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine.
  • Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray.
  • Color coded caps.
  • Stampin' Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock, and can be used with transparent sheets.

Cross Art

I spent a little down time on Easter Sunday creating a page that praises Jesus.
I am linked up with Dion Dior's Amazing Watercolor blog. You can visit her site here: http://www.diondior.com/

Card Swap Share

Card by Susan Crab. Easy to create, but using the colors she did it has a huge impact.

Card Swap Share

The pretty card is by Judy Hacker. Judy put a lot of time in creating this card. She colored each of the elements and then stamped and then lined it all up to emboss it. Pretty pretty.

Watercolor Flowers

This is inspired by Dion Dior, an amazing watercolor pencil artist and one of my vary favorits. I love the vivid colors and backgrounds she creates. It makes me seem like I am an artist too when I pull off one of her designs in my art journal too! I have learned so much studying her art and practicing. I struggle with shading and color mixing, but am feeling much more confident when pages like this turn out. So my friends, your lesson for the day is practice till you feel confident.

Christmas in June???

Do you send lots of Christmas Cards? Is 20 a lot? How about 180 like Debbie Bond-Luers dose? She is such a dear to make that many. She sends them to her family and husband business clients. So starting Christmas cards in June is not so early.

Vacation Time

We took a little vacation to Cumberland Lake KY. It is just beautiful there. We had a wonderful time visiting the area, being lazy, napping, swinging, and laughing together.
This shot is in front of the Cumberland Falls - wow the park is beautiful.

Cake

I don't do many cakes anymore - they stress me out to much. But when a 12 year old was in a panic of getting cakes made for a surprise Anniversary party for her mom and dad, I couldn't say no. And not only was it the day before we left for vacation and had company a few days before.... I was really stressing. 9 hours in the kitchen, 140+ cup cakes and a double layer 8" round cake later - we were surprise party ready.
Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry Cakes with Butter Cream frosting... yummy!
Happy 14th Anniversary Rick and Kristi.

Recipe club

Yummy salsa on a cute scrapbook page. Scrapping your favorite recipes is a great way to preserve your yummies!

Tea Anyone?

I love tea and tea pots and tea cups and tea parties and flowers. So why wouldn't I want to create something I love in my art journal.

Card Swap Share

I wish there was a name on this card, because I just love it, and would love to give it proper recognition. The back ground paper is just beautiful. The butterfly is a stamp from Stampin Up.

Paper Pumpkin Card Ideas

Have you seen Paper Pumpkin lately? Oh my goodness has it gotten AMAZING!! Stampin Up has added more it it and they are so fun. Hope over to www.mypaperpumpkin.com and sign up to see for yourself. You can get one month or keep it coming every  month. You can pre-order 3, or 6, or 9 months too and give send as gifts. I love my paper pumpkin projects. Oh and please select me as your demonstrator.

May Flower Tag

I used some retired Stampin Up designer series paper that had flowers all-over the back ground. I has some butterfly stickers that has some shimmer to it and a vellum verse package. The flower punches are the pansy punches  from Stampin Up. I used an oval punch to make the leaves and the topper to give the hole a little pop. The ribbon was free from Stampin Up and I love the color. The yellow ball trim is a Stampin Up trim as well from a while back.
So here is your lesson for today.
Use up what you have on hand and make beautiful things for your friends.

Card Swap Share

I love this background paper that Gloria Ross used on this adorable "dude" card.

Card Share brayer

Judi Hacker made this card by using the brayer and ink pads for the back ground. She met the "dude" card challenge in a great way!
