Mixing Techniques

 
Stamping, inking, cutting, layering . . . we all have our favorite techniques! But have you ever thought about combining techniques—and maybe even going a little crazy with them?
Try this. First, moisten a piece of Watercolor Paper with your Aqua Painter and water—no ink. Then, apply a color glaze using the Aqua Painter and Classic Stampin’ Ink Refills. When you add the ink—depending on how long you allow it to dry—you’ll create fun effects!





Then adhere All Is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper strips. (Tip: set your Paper Trimmer aside and use your Paper Snips, instead—for a less "perfect" look.) Then use a Sponge Dauber to cover everything with a little Whisper White Craft ink.
Our card background is ready! Let's add the finishing touches!

Using images from the Letterpress Winter Stamp Set, stamp the snowflake in Marina Mist ink. If you stamp the image multiple times without reinking, it will give depth to your project. A few spots and popped-out accents round out the look.
Repeat these steps to get varying results—depending on the shapes you feel like exploring. Check out these watercolor circles and their little bit of silver embossing.

Love some more snowmen

You could also put these snowmen to work as cute package toppers or place card holders for table settings. Or gather together your kids or grand kids together for a fun little party making snowmen families to decorate your home.
Create the hat using a 2-1/4" circle, a 1-1/2" circle, and 1-1/2" x 5" strip of cardstock or Designer Series Paper. Make the snowman’s body using 2-3/4", 2-1/4", and 1-7/8" circles (or whatever size you wish)! Use the Owl Punch for eyes and the Bird Punch to make the nose and mouth. Easy!

Love Peace and Joy

Love Peace and Joy it's over! Now for the clean up to begin. This stitched card came from a long time friend from California Who now lives in North Dakota. When I was a kid I used to play with there kids, and since mom has passed I keep up on sending Christmas cards from Dad to their friends. This one really inspired me because it is stitched on an embroidery sewing machine. I just got one for myself and so excited to try my hand at a few machine embroidered cards too!

Merry day after Christmas - here comes the new year! Wow 2015 - good golly the time flies fast.

Judi Birt never misses a holiday where she doesn't send me a card. It is so nice to see all of her beautiful creations, not to mention how sweet it is to know she is thinking of me so many times of the year. Thanks Judi for this beautiful card. We are so going to CASE (copy and share everything) this adorable card idea from Pam Wright for card club. It just made me happy to open this and see her creativity. What an adorable card. I love it Pam, thanks so much for it and the beautiful gift that came with it.

Colored Bobble

Judy Hacker is an amazing stamper. She puts so much time into each of the cards she makes. This beautiful Christmas card was stamped in gold ink using the holly stamp for the background and then the edges were sponged. She embossed the ornament and colored them in using the new blendability markers, and then cut it out. She also embossed the greeting on the ribbon. Just beautiful! Thanks Judy for the beautiful card.

Stitched Tree

This amazing card was sent to me from a wonderful person from the yahoo group I am a part of. I fell in love with this card as soon as I opened the envelope. I cannot remember what she called the stitching on the tree but it is great. It reminded me of when I was a kid and made string art (that is now coming back in). Thanks Melody I love this card.

Christmas Poinsettia

This is the poinsettia stamp set from last season and I love love love it. We used it a lot at clubs to make many different card styles. I love this beautiful card made by Debbie Luers. This picture doesn't do it justice, but it is just beautiful in person. Thanks Debbie for thinking of me and sending me this gorgeous card.

Warmth

 How about a little warm weather cruise commercial in the midst of our cold holi-daze craze!
We went of a Western Caribbean cruise in November and it was really wonderful to enjoy the 80 degrees weather while it was snowing at home. Here is Handsome waiting for a show to start.

 We visited a nature reserved in Routan Honduras that was just beautiful. Dad got a kick out of holding the monkeys. There were great fun to watch.

 Beautiful water, beautiful weather, beautiful time.

We were on Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Sea Ship. There were less then 100 kids on the ship - it was perfect for us. Quite, low key, relaxing. This was Candace's first cruise and she loved every bit of it.
