Cruisin

Handsome took me on a cruise to celebrate our 25th year anniversary. I took handsome on a cruise to celebrate life! After having a small apple tumor removed from his brain I am so thankful he is still with me. Here he is four weeks post op.
Our ship the Radiance by Royal Caribbean. The ship was beautiful, but I had 4 days of no hot shower water.
This was the best place to spend time at. it was private, quite and comfy. I spent a many a hours relaxing, drawing in my art journal and reading out there. Handsome spent a many a hour napping.
In Bar Harbor Maine, they call this a "pond", however it is a size of a lake! We had a wonderful meal, with the best pop overs I'd ever tasted.
Our favorite port was Bar Harbor. The town is so fun for shopping and eating, but the landscape views we enjoyed traveling to Arcida National Park was amazing. We visited Cadillac Mountain, but didn't get to see very much as the fog was thick.
We visited Cadillac Mountain, but didn't get to see very much as the fog was thick.
We visited Kennebunkport Maine, and Handsome enjoyed more seafood! I think he ate seafood at every meal, except for maybe breakfast. It was interesting to see the tide roll out so quickly and leave the water ways a mud field.

This is Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia Canada. It it a working lobster village with 40 full time residents. It was so quaint and the little restaurant had the best gingerbread ever. I just wished we had enough time to eat there, because the food smelled amazing. We got rained on, but it didn't damper our visit.
The tour guides were all decked out!

We enjoyed the trip and experienced a first for out while on board. We got to visit the ships doctor! Bobby developed an infection in his scare area the first night we boarded. We got him fixed up with some very expensive meds, and we were on our way. The medical care was really great.

Hind-site we really should have postponed going till Handsome was further out post op, but the cost of forfeiting air flights we a bit much to swallow. I did get to rest a lot and basically went brain dead while on board. It was needed after all the stress we had been through this past year.

Art Abandonment

I was giving some fun scrapbook supplies a few months back and had some great tags laying around, so I thought to myself, "self, get those two things together and make some art". So with glue, paper scraps, bits of ribbon, and the free supplies I made some fun tag book markers.

I abandoned these as part of a world wide art abandonment movement. I belong to a Face Book group that we all share what we make and show where we left it. It is fun to hear back when some of the art is found. You can join too. Visit the page at www.facebook.com/groups/ArtAbandonment/

Book Mark

Playing with my watercolor pencils are one my most favorite past times, next to stamping, quilting, crocheting, cooking.... ya if you had me pick just one, I couldn't. I bet most crafters are the same. There is a season for things, and as seasons change so dose our craft moods. No wonder I have more craft supplies then the big box craft stores! Yikes. Okay no one tell Handsome.

Remember

Here is somemore of that lovely designer series paper. I paired it with very vanilla card stock, old olive ink and twine, and a little black punch arrow.

The stamp set is one to add to your collection. If for nothing but one stamp in the set...... "I love you more then grilled cheese". Is that too funny or what. Ya the inside of this card says that. It is going to be so fun to make a few of these and send to my kids and grand kids. I know they will get a laugh out of it.

Words of Truth - perfect title for a very fun set. Comes in wood and clear.

Among the Branches Winter

I love the look of this card, its soft, fun, has a little bling. And it is super easy. I embossed the whisper white card stock, stamped the snow flake in soft sky and night of navy ink, glued that to soft sky card base. Cut a paper doily in half and added the greeting stamped in night of navy. Not to forget the few sequins for bling. This is a great card to make many for all your Christmas card mailing list.

Follow the link to order your set. The items that are in the Holiday Catalog are only here for a short while, and if they sale out early they are gone before the ending date. So don't be disappointed, get an early start.

Among the Branches

This new stamp set is truly awesome. It is so very easy to use and covers three months of upcoming holidays. PLUS it comes in a bundle... that means money savings! Who Hoo! I masked the sky and sponged in the moon, then I masked in the moon and sponged in the night sky. I then ran the paper through the embossing folder, and then sponged over the raised embossing marks with a sponge. Stamped the birds and spook eyes. I glued this to pumpkin pie card base. Stamped the inside and the envelope and I am one done....... with a few more to make for the grand kids Halloween treat (money) in the mail!

You can get this set and embossing folder too by clicking on the highlighted stamp below. I will show you a couple more cards that we made at Stamp Club using this same great set.

Cracker Candy

Recipe Stamp Club was so much fun. I created this Parrot to go with the Cracker Candy page. Mmmm craaaacker caaaaandy. Ya you really use soda crackers or butter crackers! I know crazy. But they are so so yummy
My "Polly" is pretty cute! I used oval and circle punches in different sizes to create Polly.

Thank a Pansy

Christa Miller made and sent me this great card. I planned a tea party with a few stamping friends and we made over 100 cards that day for her daughters wedding and shower. In less then 4 hours we had all the cards done and consumed a yummy lunch. It was such a fun day. Thanks Crista for the thanks. Love the card.

Shadowed Treasures

I want to share this cash drawer shadow box I found in a barn sale a few months back. I dug it out of a pile of stuff and gave the guy $7-$8 bucks for it. Brought it home, cleaned it up, oiled it and add teeth hangers on the back. Then I set out to collect some uber cuts little stuff to put it in.
I didn't have to look to far for this as this was my great grandmothers pen cushion. I have a secret love for pin cushions, and this is my most treasured one. One of these days when I find some time.. hahahah! I'm gonna make a few.
Oh this little bunny - He looks like he was dug out of a mud hole, but I found him in my antique, yard sale, junk'in travels one day and he had to come home with me. I love his little heart nose.
This little hand made basket was the steal of the day when we visited the "Lazy Days" in Gosport Indiana in August. A guy made this as a test to see how small he could make a basket and he gave it away for $2! I was so happy to have found it and it looks perfect in the cash drawer.
The button bouquet I made. The tiny sewing machine was a gift from my sweet friend Pam Wright, the tiny crystal tea cup came from our Door County vacation trip. To much fun filling this. Now I'll have to get another one and fill! If only I had wall space for another one!

Artist Choice

Tracy Swift swapped this simply adorable baby card. I only wish I knew someone who was having a baby girl that I could bless them with this card. Thanks Tracy for the simply adorable card.

Artist Choice

This amazing card is by Debbie Lures. The back ground was done by coloring on a clear stamp block with markers and then misting it with water and stamping it on the card stock. Debbie then stamped right over the back ground creating this lovely card. It had great color dimension and makes the perfect card for a guy.

Artist Choice

I hosted a card swap with my club gals and the theme was Artist Choice. Wow was I blown away. I am so happy to see all the amazing creations by them. The coffee card is by Becky Kirkman - and I love any card that has to do with coffee.

Needle Work

What.. no card? I thought it was time to switch gears a little and share some needle work I've done over the past few weeks. I put my art pencils down for a little while and picked up a needle.

I found these two kits in a bargain center where I have my little booth, "Reloved Relics". So I completed the denim bag and have added to the booth.

I'm not sure what I am going to do with this cross stitch design yet - a pin cushion, a little picture, a center for a pillow? Oh i just don't know yet. It's maybe 4"x4"... any suggestions?
