Big Bows

Why is it that every time the word big begins a sentence I think of that rude song.... "I like big blaa blaa blaa..." There is even a chimerical about big crusts now! Well getting back to the not so rude topic! These big bow cards are just beautiful.
Tracy Swift made the above card. I love everything about it. the layers, the color, the use of vellum on the flowers. This is a really great card.
Bev Massengale made this beautiful big bow card. Very simple, but has a great impact with color and texture.

Beautiful

These two cards were created by Judy Hacker. She did an amazing job on this lay out and the use of texture and washi tape are perfect in the above Birthday card.
The layers of texture and color are striking beautiful on this sympathy card. The back ground is spritzed using a spritzer bottle filled with a bit of ink refill and alcohol. Using alcohol in your spritz bottles will dry faster then water.

Chalk it Up.

This very soft and beautiful card was made by Georganne Caine. She used the versa mark ink and stamp the flower. Then using a sponge or q-tip she tapped chalk over the tacky ink. Once the ink dries the chalk is also set. I have always love this technique. It is simple to do yet give such a beautiful effect. Thanks Georganne for swapping this great card.

On a personal note - today is my Dad's 78th Birthday. I am thankful dad is still here and I am able to care for him in our home. There is no greater blessing to me to have my dad near and enjoy the time. Happy Birthday to the greatest dad ever. This picture was taken with my son, Shawn.

Out of the Box

Sarah Smith made this really fun Birthday card. The trick is to punch the circles first in your scrap paper or card stock and then cut or punch the shape around the the circle. This is a very fun kids or young teen card. Great use of scraps and could be dressed up with some fun wiggle eyes or printed background papers and even different punch shapes too. Great idea Sarah, thanks for swapping.

What We Do

Just a quick share of a fun journal page. I especially love the ribbon design. Inspiration came from pintrest! Seams that has been my source of creative flow lately.
I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Whip it Up Card

I was so happy to see someone is using my ideas. This really pretty card swap by Carolyn Houck used my idea from one of my Whip it Up Wednesday video. She used her scrap back ground papers and glued them in strips across the front of the card and then added embellishments. Yaha! Love it Carolyn, thanks for swapping.

MMmmmmm Coffee

Now that we are headed into cooler weather.... humm coffee! I do love the smell of coffee. Handsome and I found ourselves looking at a travel trailer a few days ago and thinking camping might be fun..... we then quickly talked ourselves out of it! It might be fun once in a while, but to lay out a bunch of money on a trailer and all the stuff that goes with it...... we used to camp back in the day... but now ... well..... naaaa! Think we might just stick with the Holiday Inn camping! Ha!

But back to my story, we ended up in the parking lot of a home grown business. Jameson Coffee. Oh my goodness. The owner invited us in to see..... OH was I uber excited. We love Jameson Coffee and wasn't able to find it anymore as the little shop in town closed down. But now I have the inside scoop. He let me smell some of the flavors and how it all comes together. He has a coffee that is grown in Haiti by a Christian organization. WOW! It is fantastic tasting. So if you are loving coffee and love to support local home grown business - well check out Jameson Coffee.

Happy Birthday

Tracy Swift made this fun Birthday card for our monthly card swap. The stamp set she used is new to the annual catalog this year. I really like the sprayed ink colors. You can achieve this look by adding a few drop of ink refill and rubbing alcohol in our Stampin Spritzer bottles and spray a bit of ink color. Adding more then one color gives a great dimension to your cards too.
You can order your stamp set, ink refills and mist bottles HERE, or click on the pictures of the item you love.

Whip it Up Wednesday Gift Card Holder

Guess what day it is! Whoop Whoop! Are you ready for another Whip it Up Wednesday Video?

To make the envelope you will need to cut your card stock or Designer Series Paper to 6"x6", using the envelope punch board, score along the 3" line and punch all four sides. Fold the score lines. Cut the inside card to 3"x3" and lay or glue to the inside of the envelope.  for the belly band, cut a strip of card stock 1"x 8", and cut one end in a ribbon shape. Fold around the outside of the envelope. and glue to hold it together. Embellish anyway you want. I used a "for you" stamp and pop-dot it to the belly band.
Thanks for viewing my Whip it Up Wednesday Video. If you like them, share it with your friends. Can't see the video? If you received this via email, you will need to click on the title to head over to my blog to view.

Kindness and Cookies

I have been making no bake cookies the past few weeks, for my family and for a few gifts. I just had to show off these on my Silpat from Demarle. LOVE IT! Oh ya and the cookies were good too!

And how about a card..... Come to card club and make this great card. I love this stamp set and love the colors. When I first saw this come out in the new annual catalog, my thought were... what in the world is this design! i wasn't liking it much! Ha, but then I saw a few card samples done and oh my the possibilities. It is out of the box a bit different and so much fun to use. It has some great basics in it and will be a long time keeper. Summer Ends

Wow with the crazy fast turn in the weather here in west central Indiana it feels more like fall then the end of summer. And it seamed to happen overnight! So to hold on to those summer time feeling here is a great summer birthday card done by Debbie Luers.
